Glossy: light, drama, expansiveness
High-polish surfaces bounce daylight deep into the room, which makes glossy tiles perfect for compact bathrooms and north-facing living spaces. The trade-off is honesty: gloss shows water spots, dust and footprints, so pair it with a good squeegee habit — or reserve it for walls, where it stays pristine with a weekly wipe.
Matte: calm, soft, forgiving
Matte absorbs light instead of reflecting it, giving stone-look tiles their remarkably natural feel. It hides dust and everyday marks far better than gloss, which is why most of our kitchen floors and high-traffic hallways leave the factory matte. In very dark rooms, balance it with glossy accents so the space does not flatten.
Textured and décor-carved: grip with character
Carved décors and structured surfaces add both traction and shadow-play. They are the workhorses of wet rooms, entrance halls and outdoor terraces — and, used on a single feature wall, the fastest way to give a plain room a designer focal point without changing its palette.
